This is a Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM position. You will provide support for the organization in the Tariffville, Connecticut office. We know that our team members are who make us successful. We are currently searching for a Human Resources Assistant with a minimum of one year of hands-on experience. The ideal candidate will also possess a year of administrative assistant background. You will provide support for the organization in the Tariffville, CT office. 

Job duties will include:

  • Assist in basic day-to-day administrative activities in our Tariffville office including answering phones, receiving and distributing mail, and stocking and maintaining the kitchen area.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refer more complex questions to HR  management.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files, records, conversations, and informational exchanges.
  • Schedules and organizes candidate interviews and seminars.
  • Provides clerical support to the HR department, Executive Assistant,  and CT corporate office.
  • Company mailings and shipping of conference materials.
  • Assist in the hiring process including candidate review, contact, interviews, and onboarding.
  • May assist with the preparation of human resource reports.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, etc.
  • Act as back-up for admin needs of the Executive Assistant.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • The ability to provide HR support in a team environment, using skills of general HR.
  • Ability to exercise complete confidentiality.
  • Experience with a PEO (Principal Employer Organization) is a plus, but not required.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organization skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a highly capable team.
  • Reliable and employee-focused.
  • Basic knowledge of Federal labor and wage & hour laws.

Education and Experience:

  • 1+ year of hands-on Human Resources experience
  • 1+ year of Administrative Assistant experience
  • Fluency with Google Suite or MS Office. Proficiency using Mac OS preferred.

This position frequently requires working at a computer terminal, standing and sitting, and the ability to operate a computer with proficiency.
