The Director of Marketing and Communications will successfully plan, develop, and implement MetrumRG’s marketing and communication strategies in close partnership with executive leadership to build upon the company’s reputation and brand. The Director will oversee the architecture, organization, and distribution of internal and external content and communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Marketing
    • Develop and implement overall marketing strategy for each product/service offering within the guidelines of the mission of the company 
    • Identify/assess target markets and build strategies to reach each market
    • Evaluate competitive climate and position appropriately in global context
    • Ensure MetrumRG branding is consistent across all media, work with the external design team to develop logos, graphics, webpages, etc
    • Manage annual company marketing budget 
    • Work closely with the Business Development team to ensure marketing activities are aligned with sales strategies and objectives
    • Assess pricing/profit model in collaboration with the Business Development team
    • Identify opportunities to cross-sell services/products
    • Coordinate with external PR agency to extend reach and gain additional press coverage of MetrumRG’s social impact and thought leadership 
    • Design an appropriate mix of paid, owned, and earned media coverage (social included) 
    • With support from an external PR agency, manage social media accounts, company newsletters, blog, etc
    • Represent MetrumRG at key tradeshows and conferences, plan and manage all onsite conference exhibits, sponsorship, and branding activities 
    • Oversee the creation of collateral for product marketing (testimonials, explainer videos, etc)

  • Internal communications 
    • Establish and maintain an internal communications strategy
    • Work with executive leadership to ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders
    • Plan, edit, and write content for a variety of internal communications mediums
    • Ensure internal communication messages are consistent with external communication
    • Respond to feedback from staff and adjust communications content accordingly
  • Content management
    • Work with executive leadership to develop and maintain a successful content management strategy
    • Oversee the organization of a large amount of content to help external/internal consumers access content with little to no friction
    • Architect content delivery strategy, working closely with content developers and business analysts
    • Oversee the design and structure of knowledge bases for use in a variety of situations
    • Develop content matrix and mapping, supported by business analysts
    • Work collaboratively with content developers to ensure MetrumRG voice and tone are consistent across knowledge bases
    • Develop taxonomy and nomenclature
    • Prepare and implement a content governance model
    • Recommend new content workflows

  • Establish a formal feedback process, including measurable data points to aid in company decision making

Requirements, Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in the use of
    • CRM tools (Hubspot)
    • Social media outlets (LinkedIn, Twitter)
    • CMS platforms for websites (Wordpress)
    • Knowledge Base platforms (Atlassian Confluence)
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Demonstrated evidence of working with others to complete team-level tasks.
  • Experience and expertise in marketing strategy and implementation.
  • Advertising experience, including print and digital.
  • Superior client and customer service skills.

Education and Experience:

  • 7-10 years experience in a marketing role in the life science field, Biotech, or Pharmaceutical industry preferred
  • 4-year degree or higher in communications, marketing, business, or related field or equivalent experience

Physical Demands: The job frequently requires working at a computer terminal, standing or sitting, and the ability to operate the computer with proficiency.

Work Environment: The work environment is quiet with no adverse conditions.
